| What is WorkStart-LCHRAS? |
LCHRAS is proud to offer the WorkStart® program. WorkStart® is a comprehensive, flexible and results-oriented program that helps clients:
- assess their employability skills, interests, aptitudes, strengths, and characteristics
- explore a wide range of occupational options
- learn about national job markets and employment trends
- set realistic employment goals
- build a step-by-step action plan toward employment or a future career
- develop employability skills to improve chances of finding and keeping a job
- learn planning skills, which can be applied to current and lifelong employment/career development
| Who can take the WorkStart® program? |
WorkStart® is designed to serve the needs of a wide range of clients including those who are:
- job-ready with previous work experience
- seeking direction with little or no work experience
- trying to choose and plan a career path which may require further training or education
- looking for a career change
Those wishing to take the WorkStart® program must be referred by an employment counsellor. For more information, please see our registration information page.
| Where can I take the WorkStart® program? |
LCHRAS offers the program at the Bayside Centre in downtown Sarnia, Ontario. The Bayside Centre is located at 150 Christina St. North and is accessible by the City's bus routes. Our lab provides clients with up-to-date technology and helpful staff to assist them in completing the program successfully. The lab houses 10 computer workstations, a kitchen, and client lunch area. The WorkStart office and client lab are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and are wheelchair accessible.
